Buddhist Sunday School, October 11, 2026: smiles through the rain
Sun, October 11, 2026

Even with rain on Sunday, October 11, 2026, the students of the Buddhist Sunday School at Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep USA came ready to learn, full of smiles.
Sunday, October 11, 2026 brought grey skies and rain, but the Buddhist Sunday School at Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep USA in Chino Hills was full of smiles, happiness and learning. Students turned out together, ready for the day.
The day included honouring the flags of Thailand and the United States; paying respect to the Buddha, chanting and meditation; Dhamma studies and Thai language; Thai and Lanna music; and Thai classical dance.
In the classrooms, monks and volunteer teachers taught Dhamma and Thai by level, from the youngest class learning through songs and hand movements to the older students practising reading and writing. Before class, students stood with palms together to pay respect to the Buddha.
Every activity helps build good character and concentration, and pride in Thai heritage, while making friendships and keeping cultural roots alive so our young people grow up well.
Learn Buddhism, keep the Thai language, carry on Lanna culture, and grow with pride in American society. Thank you to the parents who brought their children despite the rain, and to all our volunteer teachers.
