Buddhist Sunday School, October 18, 2026: a day of learning and joy
Sun, October 18, 2026

Sunday, October 18, 2026 at the Buddhist Sunday School of Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep USA: another happy day of learning for Thai-American children in Chino Hills, California.
On Sunday, October 18, 2026, students of the Buddhist Sunday School at Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep USA in Chino Hills, California, gathered for another day full of joy, fun and learning, with activities that build good character and Thai language skills.
The day began by honouring the flags of Thailand and the United States, followed by paying respect to the Buddha, chanting and a short meditation together in the hall, so the children could settle their minds before class.
Students then went to their classrooms by level for Dhamma studies and Thai reading and writing with our volunteer teachers. The rooms were full of smiles and focused young faces.
In the afternoon the arts took over. Students practised Thai and Lanna music on ranat xylophones, the khim dulcimer and drums under the tents in the temple courtyard, while others learned Thai classical dance in the classroom and out in the painted courtyard of the school buildings.
Learn Buddhism, keep the Thai language, carry on Lanna culture, and grow with pride in American society. Thank you to every teacher, volunteer and parent who helps look after our children. Families who would like to join are welcome to ask at the wat on any Sunday.
